There are several places throughout the system where you have the opportunity to input SEO-optimized Meta Information.
These are all manually set. If these are left empty, they will be empty in the page code templates
1. Under Admin > Settings > General you must enter
-
Site Name which is appended to every section/subsection and to search pages)

2. Section/Subsection Pages including Homepage, Location Search Pages, Event Search Pages, & Directory Search Pages
- URL (important for SEO and can be manually changed)
-
Meta Title (this is appended with the site name, e.g.: Section Title - Site Name)
Example: http://atlanta-living.com/atlanta-restaurant-reviews:
<title>Reviews of Atlanta's Restaurants and Culinary Destinations - Atlanta Living</title>
- Meta Description (important because this appears in search results on search engines)
- Meta Keywords (of little importance these days; any keyword stuffing can lead to ranking penalties)
NOTE: The Meta Title is the Page Title that will appear in the browser when users are viewing this section. The Section URL is automatically generated to be the same as the Section Title but in all lower case with dashes separating the words. It is advisable to leave this auto-generated URLs as is, but it can be changed if you prefer. That will then appear as the URL path in the browser URL (link) field.
3. Content - This is automatically taken from the title and description unless you manually add specific meta info:
- Meta Title (may add specific meta info, else copied from title)
- Meta Description (may add specific meta info, else copied from description)
-
Meta Keyword (Tags added to content - not important these days)

4. Tags - Have their own specific purpose:
- As mentioned above, on Content, Tags become the meta keywords.
- On Topics Pages the Tag title is the meta title and the Tag description is the meta description.
