Why isn't my events sprocket showing events?

I posted and published a bunch of events and I created a calendar sprocket for my homepage. It appears it isn't displaying any of my events, however if you click the "Search Events" link at the bottom of the sprocket the system takes me to page showing all of my events. Any idea why the sprocket is displaying them on the homepage?
