Creating a new Page using the Template HTML type
- Log in to your Metro Publisher work site and select the "Pages" tab. Click "Add" at the bottom of the window and select "Template HTML Page".
- Type in a Title. This text will be the main (h1) title as well as the meta-title for the page.
- Enter the file name manually. For Pages, this is not automatically generated as it is for standard pieces of content. The file name is also the URL for the page, so keep that in mind when you're setting it. Avoid spaces in the file name.
- Click "Save" to save the new Page you just created.
- If you want to place your Template Page within a Section or Subsection you can select it in the "Section" pulldown menu in the "Basic Settings" area. The URL for your new page will then include the Section (and Subsection), e.g. https://www.yourmagazine.com/section-name/subsection-name/file-name
- Choose whether the Page should inherit Sprockets from the Section/Subsection it is assigned to. If you haven't selected a specific Section/Subsection then the parent Section is the Homepage.
- When inputting content, you can choose between the rich-text editor tools and the source code, or both.
When you are ready to display your new webpage publicly, don't forget to link to it using our guide: Linking to a Pages page.
NOTE: In the Basic Settings field of a Pages page you will find a checkbox labeled "Include in Search". This allows that particular page to be included and therefore found by readers via the site-wide search tool using keywords.
